Headerboard Options
Valances
A valance has aesthetic beauty and can also help conceal operating mechanisms (control loops, motors, roller shades, etc.) from the front or rear view. This option is recommended for CONRAD weaves that are particularly sheer. CONRAD offers several valance options, including front, reverse and freestanding valances in the same fabric as the shade.
FRONT OR REVERSE VALANCE
The shade and valance are woven together as one continuous piece. The valance is the same width as the shade and drapes from the front (front valance) or from the back (reverse valance) of headerboard.
FAUX VALANCE
To reduce the visibility of operating mechanisms on sheer weaves a faux valance is recommended. A faux valance is a finished piece of lining fabric adhered directly to the reverse of the shade.
FABRIC-ONLY REVERSE VALANCE
To offer visual continuity from the exterior on inside-mount, fabric-lined shades, fabric-only reverse valances are fabricated from lining fabrics to conceal operating mechanisms and hardware from exterior view.
FREESTANDING VALANCE
The valance is woven separately from the shade, instead of as a continuation of the shade. A freestanding valance will often be specified to span several shades mounted side-by-side. It is also often ordered for mitered corner installations.
